Each of our coaches has worked closely with Gymnastics Australia and Gymnastics Western Australia to gain their qualifications. We also offer opportunities for our own athletes to also train through Gymnastics WA to achieve their coaching accreditations to train under our head coach.
Why is it so important?
Children who are physically literate feel more confident in their ability and will be more willing to engage in physical activity. As a result they are more likely to be Active for Life. When children are active they achieve better grades in school, have better social skills, and are happier and more confident. When you enroll your kids in gymnastics, you're helping them get the right start in sport, school and life!
GYMNASTICS GIVES KIDS (AND ADULTS):
The physical foundation for participating in any other sport.
The ABCs of athleticism: agility, balance, coordination and speed.
Strong bodies. Gymnasts are some of the strongest athletes around.
Strong minds. Gymnastics helps develop brain function and focus.
Confidence. Kids go from “I can’t” to “I can!” when they learn new skills, take risks, and push limits in a safe,
supportive environment.Life skills. Kids learn how to set and achieve goals, and overcome challenges with perseverance and discipline.
A great sport with opportunities to perform, compete and be on a team!
What is the difference between recreational & competition classes?
Recreational gymnastics, as its name suggests, caters to anyone from your little or big ones who are just starting out in the sport, to seasoned gymnasts who’d like to train without the pressure of competitions. After all, it’s never too late to start, and this sport caters to anyone looking to enjoy its benefits!
In short, recreational gymnasts get to cement the fundamentals of the sport through classes, and can transfer the techniques and skills they’ve picked up to plenty of other sports later in life.
Competitive gymnastics requires a much higher level of commitment – in terms of time, money and pressure and expectation. Places on a competitive squad can be limited, so as much as you might have expectations as a parent or gymnast, there is also a level of expectation from your coaches and team members. Some competitive gymnasts start training at a young age, but we also see numerous children come into the sport later on and progressing well, because they are naturally athletic - and because they work very hard. There is a dedicated training programme they must adhere to, working closely with their coaches to hit certain milestones.
What is Ninja Gym?
NinjaGym uses techniques to leverage kids’ fire and enthusiasm into an activity they will truly love!
A combination of gymnastics, obstacle training, freerunning and parkour; this is a high energy program that’s designed to challenge and extend a child’s abilities. Children learn a combination of flips, rolls, jumps and general gymnastics while working on their strength, agility, coordination and fitness!
For success in school, sport, and life, a child that learns to channel their impulse and energy towards a focused goal is bound to succeed in their endeavours. Our NinjaGym program encourages children to focus on self improvement by setting personal goals instead of competing against others.
These classes welcome children of all abilities, 4 years and up. We use progressions to teach basic to more advanced skills in both tumbling and ninja.
